Red Hook and John S. Burke Catholic battled back and forth in Saturday's Section 9, Class C girls lacrosse before the Eagles slipped past the homestanding Raiders by a score of 11-8.
Red Hook had a 21-17 advantage in shots on goal but they couldn't parley that edge in to a victory. Burke held a 7-4 lead at halftime with the two squads playing evenly on the scoreboard in the second half.
Britta Brudvig was an offensive force for Red Hook with three goals and an assist. Kaylen Van Wagner also notched a hat trick for the Raiders. Becky Fildes and Lorna Brundrett also tallied goals for the locals.
Hajar Ismail made six saves in goal for the Raiders.
