Red Hook's baseball team saw a slim lead late in the game go away as they dropped a tough 4-2 decision to homestanding Saugerties in a Section 9, Class A game.
The Raiders held a 2-1 advantage in the fifth inning but the Sawyers tied the game with a triple and a single. Red Hook hurlers Dylan Moody-Orlich and reliever Kyle Barrett then loaded the bases when they each hit a batter with a pitch. Barrett induced a short fly ball to right field that couldn't get the run home. A slow chopper up the first base line was mishandled, allowing the eventual winning run to cross the plate. A bases- loaded walk tacked on the final run for Saugerties.
Zack Martin led Red Hook with a single and a double and a run batted in. Dylan Moody-Orlich scored both of Red Hook's runs in the game.
