It took a while for the Red Hook boys lacrosse team to get on the scoreboard during Saturday's Section 9, Class C playoff game but once they found the back of the net they slowly worked its way to an 8-2 victory over John S. Burke Catholic at Red Hook High School.The Raiders managed a 1-0 lead after the first period and increased that advantage 4-0 by intermission. Red Hook held a 4-2 advantage in goals for the second half to secure the win.
Zack Gilman 3 was the top gun for the Raiders with the three-goal hat trick. Pat Meyer were a tough offensive tandem for Burke to deal with as they each recorded two goals and a pair of assists. Taylor Lee had the other goal for the winners. Tong Guerra racked up an assist for Red Hook.
Once again the Red Hook defense was tough to penetrate and when the Eagles would get a shot off, goalies Kyle Wright and Austin Loeffel were equal to the task. Wright started the game and finished with five saves. Loeffel made two saves to preserve the victory.
