Red Hook's girls softball team couldn't hold on to a late lead as they dropped a 4-3 decision to homestanding Rondout Valley in a Section 9, Class A playoff contest at Kyserike on Thursday afternoon.After falling behind by a score of 2-0 , the Raiders stormed back to take the lead when they tallied three runs of their own in the top of the third inning. Elisabeth Brisley, Jess Murray and Alex Osterhoudt all drove home runs with basehits for Red Hook. The score stayed that way until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Ganders squeezed a pair of runs across the plate.
Abbey Velie and Jess Murray each collected a pair of hits for the Raiders. Osterhoudt and Brisley had Red Hook's only other hits during the contest.
Ashey A'Brial was the tough-luck loser on the mound. She scattered nine hits while striking out six and walkinh none.
