Rhinebeck battled Spackenkill tooth and nail before dropping a 3-2 verdict to Spackenkill in Monday's Mid-Hudson Athletic League team championships played at SUNY New Paltz.
Jeff Berstell was victorious at first singles over the Spartans' Chris Yu. Berstell cruised to an 8-4 win.
Nick Kustas of Spackenkill was able to get past Rhinebeck's in a hard-fought match by a score of 9-7.
Rhinebeck eighth-grader Carol Tyson disposed of Dax Lamar in third singles by a score of 8-6.
The Hawks doubles tandems of Nick Hatter and Max Fesser along with Cory Sansola and Ethan Christy were defeated in their matches.
